A period bathroom rebuilt around a patterned encaustic-look floor, a sage shaker vanity and a glass shower with a tiled bench.
The Scope
This bathroom leans into pattern rather than away from it. The floor is a patterned encaustic-look tile in blue-grey and ochre, and the same tile is carried up a full wall inside the shower as a feature, so the two read as one gesture rather than a floor and a separate accent.
Against that, the rest of the room is deliberately quiet. The vanity is a sage-green shaker with a veined stone counter and an undermount basin, and the shower's remaining walls are a stacked white tile laid vertically. The shower pan is a small square mosaic in a warm off-white, and a tiled bench runs along one side.
Fittings are oil-rubbed bronze throughout — a widespread tap set on the vanity, a rain head and hand shower in the shower, and grab bars by the toilet and at the shower entry. A picture rail and painted wainscot run around the room at chair height, and an arched mirror sits on a carved shelf between two wall sconces.
At the shower entry the tiled floor sits close to level with the room floor, with a glass panel and door rather than a raised curb. Everything described here is visible in the photographs. We hold no before photography for this project, so this page makes no claim about the room's previous state.
