The Scope

The lower cabinetry is an emerald shaker, and it carries the whole run — from the range wall round to the apron sink under the window. Above it the uppers are white, several of them glass-fronted, which keeps the colour to the bottom half of the room.

The range is a cream freestanding cooker with brass trim, set under a stainless chimney hood. Hardware throughout is brass: long bar pulls on the drawers, a gooseneck tap at the sink, and the trim on the range itself.

Counters are a white quartz, including the peninsula that separates the kitchen from the room beyond. Glass pendants hang over it, the floor is a dark plank, and a sliding barn door closes off the far end.

Everything described here is visible in the photographs on this page. Nothing on this page describes what the room looked like beforehand or how the work was sequenced.
