The Scope
This is a different project from the other $72,000 kitchen in our portfolio, and it goes in the opposite direction on colour.
Cabinetry is a white shaker with slim handles, running the perimeter and a large island in the middle of the room. Counters and the island top are a white quartz with soft veining.
The backsplash is the decision the room turns on. It is a deep teal gloss tile in a running bond, carried behind the whole counter run rather than kept to a panel behind the range, so the colour wraps the corner and reads as the room's wall finish.
The island carries a cooktop with a stainless hood suspended above it, which keeps the perimeter run free of a bulkhead and leaves the sightline across the room open. A professional stainless range sits in the perimeter run, with a dishwasher beside the sink and a refrigerator at the end.
Along the wall above the counter the owners hang a gallery of framed artwork, and there is bar seating tucked under the island overhang on the open side.
Flooring is a pale timber plank, which keeps the floor quiet under the teal.
