Bathroom Remodeling in South Pasadena
Serving 91030 and Pasadena, San Marino, Alhambra
This is the work we have actually finished and published in South Pasadena: bathrooms with marble-veined slab walls, a frameless glass shower and patterned tile floors, inside the kind of house this city is full of. It is also the room where an old house shows its age fastest, and where the difference between doing it properly and doing it cheaply is entirely invisible on the day it is finished.
Real projects. Real prices.
73 finished remodels published with their final price — nothing hidden.
What 28 finished LA bathrooms actually cost: a median of $38k, in a range of $28k–$105k. Real final prices from our own job records, not estimates.
$30,000 A full-length double vanity under twin lit mirrors, with herringbone mosaic shower niches.
$32,000 A wood shaker double vanity under twin black mirrors, with a freestanding tub and marble-look shower.
$33,000 A backlit mirror over a double vanity, with stone-look tile and matte black fittings throughout.
$45,000 Rust and blue slate-tone tile over a pebble mosaic shower floor, with bronze fittings.
$46,000 One room in bold geometric tile with an oak vanity, one in white with a ribbed vanity and stone basin.
$105,000 Marble-veined slab walls, a frameless glass shower, and patterned tile floors.
Bathrooms rebuilt inside period houses
Waterproofing is the whole project
An original subfloor, a tiled wet area and modern water use is a combination that punishes shortcuts. Substrate, falls and membrane are specified for what is genuinely underneath, which we establish by opening the floor rather than by assuming what is there.
The space you need is usually next door
Period bathrooms are small because the plan is old. Borrowing from a closet, a landing or a back bedroom is the standard answer and the right one — provided it is drawn across the whole floor at once instead of room by room.
Slab walls instead of tiled ones
Fewer joints means less to fail and less to clean, which in a house where the last bathroom lasted fifty years is a serious argument rather than a styling preference. It is not automatically right, but it deserves to be asked properly.
Venting where there is nowhere to vent
An internal bathroom in an old plan frequently has no outside wall. Routing extraction properly, rather than into a roof void, is a small decision that decides how the room smells and how long the finishes survive.
Keeping the house liveable while one bathroom is gone
In a house with one or two bathrooms, sequencing matters as much as specification. We plan which room is out of service when, because a family without a working bathroom is a scheduling failure, not an inconvenience.
