Garage Conversion in Carson
Serving 90745 · 90746 and Torrance, Gardena, Long Beach
The standard Carson garage is attached, on a sound slab, with the house services a few feet away — which makes it the cheapest habitable square footage most of these houses can gain. The conversion is ordinary work done properly, and the three things that decide whether it is worth doing can be checked in one visit.
Real projects. Real prices.

The attached garage as a room
Slab, services, level
Is the slab sound and at a workable height relative to the house floor? Can power, water and drainage reach it easily? Is the structure square and dry? On most Carson tract houses the answer is yes three times, which is why this conversion is so often the right call.
The step down, and why it matters
Tract garage slabs were poured below the house floor to keep water out. Bringing the converted floor up to meet the house — or deciding deliberately not to — changes the ceiling height, the door heights and how the room reads from inside the house, and it is the first thing we measure rather than the last.
Where the cars go
On a tract driveway, losing the garage is usually no loss at all — which is another reason the arithmetic works here more often than it does on a narrow street elsewhere.
