Bathroom Remodeling in Hancock Park
Serving 90004 · 90020 · 90019 · 90036 and Larchmont Village, Windsor Square, Miracle Mile
Period-revival houses in Hancock Park were generous with reception rooms and mean with bathrooms, because a second one was a luxury when they were drawn. The usual brief is therefore not "make it beautiful" but "find the space" — and on lots and plans this size the space is almost always there once somebody is willing to redraw a whole floor at once.

Bathrooms in houses built with one of them
Borrow from the landing, the closet or the back bedroom
Adding a bathroom or enlarging one means taking area from something adjacent. Done on a drawing of the entire floor it works; done one room at a time it produces a door that opens into a basin.
Original tile: some of it is worth keeping
A proportion of the original bathroom tilework in these houses is genuinely good and cannot be replaced. A larger proportion is from a much later decade and is worth nothing. Sorting the two before demolition day occasionally saves the best surface in the house.
A hundred years of plumbing above a finished ceiling
Old waste runs, no vent where a modern layout wants one, and a ceiling underneath that somebody has already repaired once. We open it and look before pricing, because the alternative is arithmetic performed on a guess.
