ADU Construction in Orange
Serving 92866 · 92867 · 92868 · 92869 and Villa Park, Anaheim, Tustin
Orange has two lot conditions that suit an accessory dwelling and one that complicates it. The post-war tracts have flat rear gardens with driveway access, and the equestrian-scale parcels at the edges of the city have room for almost anything. Inside Old Towne, a new structure on a historic parcel is a design conversation before it is a construction one.
Real projects. Real prices.

Second units on Orange lots
Flat lots, straightforward builds
On tract parcels the work is ordinary in the best sense: level ground, easy access for a concrete truck, and services that reach the back of the lot without drama. That is why the same unit costs less here than on a hillside.
A new building on a historic parcel
Where the property is inside the district, what the second unit looks like from public view is the governing question. The proposals that go well are quietly of their own time and sited so the historic house stays the subject.
The larger parcels at the edges
Where lots run to acreage the constraint stops being space and becomes servicing distance — power, water and drainage travelling a long way. It is a solvable cost, but it belongs in the budget from the first drawing.
Who reviews it
Permits come from the city's Community Development Department and its Building Division. Inside the district, the design standards apply on top of that, with minor work at staff level and substantial change at committee.
