Kitchen Remodeling in San Marino
Serving 91108 and Pasadena, South Pasadena, Alhambra
San Marino kitchens sit inside large, formal, well-built houses whose plans are one or two generations behind the way anybody now cooks. The structure is rarely the problem. The programme is: a city whose Design Review Committee looks at anything that changes what the street can see, and a kitchen brief that often wants exactly that. We have finished and published a whole-home remodel here, and the kitchen was the centre of it.
Real projects. Real prices.
73 finished remodels published with their final price — nothing hidden.
What 27 finished LA kitchens actually cost: a median of $50k, in a range of $23k–$84k. Real final prices from our own job records, not estimates.
$25,000 White shaker cabinetry, white subway tile, and light quartz counters.
$40,000 White shaker cabinetry and brass pulls around a sage-green island under a beaded chandelier.
$50,000 Navy shaker lowers under white uppers, with a slate-tone tile backsplash and a wood ledge shelf.
$65,000 White uppers over grey shaker lowers with brass pulls, an apron sink and a broad quartz peninsula.
$72,000 Honey-oak cabinetry replaced with white shaker fronts and a marble-look quartz island.
$75,000 Wood shaker cabinetry under a full-height quartz slab, with a marble-look hall bath.
Kitchens in a city that reviews design
Formal rooms, informal lives
The typical house here was planned around separate dining and separate service space. Most briefs are really one question — how much of that separation should go — and the answer is usually less than a magazine would suggest and more than the plan currently allows.
Inside the walls, or outside them
A kitchen reorganised within the existing footprint is normally a building-permit matter. The moment it pushes out, raises up or changes an elevation, the Design Review Committee is part of the schedule — and the committee's calendar is fixed while ours is not.
Cabinetry at the standard of the house
These houses were built with real joinery, and a kitchen fitted out with thin factory boxes reads wrong in them even when the finish is fashionable. We build cabinetry in-house, which is the only reliable way to match a standard rather than approximate it.
